Greens Update Summer 2011
The season is now in full swing, the course is in good condition although playing tough due to the almost constant strong wind. The implementation plan is being progressed although more slowly than we would have liked due to understaffing. We are now up to full permanent compliment and will endeavour to make up the time.
Greens Forum
We are going to hold a greens forum on 14th July, this will allow members to ask questions of the greens committee and staff in an informal meeting, followed by machinery demonstrations on and around the putting green.
New Machinery
We have purchased a new tractor to replace the existing unit that was worn out, in addition we have purchased a new greens iron that will allow us to improve the putting surface without stressing the grass. This will be demonstrated at the Greens Forum so please come along to see the new machine in action.
Tees
I hope you are able to see the difference in the tees now that we are constantly feeding, dressing and coring, they are significantly better than previous years.
Fairways
Our new fairway mower has improved the general look of the course and the playability of the fairways. We are cutting more often than previous years.
